Rick is a recognized expert in IT project management, agile development, and management consulting. His book “The IT Consultant” is considered the classic in its subject, and is a standard in university IT curricula. Rick’s career as an IT consultant and project manager has included engagements with Citi, JPMorganChase, AIG, State Street Bank, and Bank of NY, as well as projects with Microsoft, HP, NEC, Getty Images, and Sega. Rick was engaged by Intel as their Worldwide Project Management Team Leader in 2001, and collaborated with a team of 25 project managers dispersed globally. In that role Intel’s global teams delivered data center and internet application projects for The People’s Republic of China, Woolworth Australia, and Metro of Germany, and installed data centers for Intel in China.
Rick’s posts on IT topics are widely read in outlets such as O’Reilly Media, LinkedIn, and DZone. He’s published four books on IT consulting, and regularly posts commentary on AI, data center builds, consulting behavior, and agile project management. Rick served as the Technology Editor for ‘Consulting to Management’ journal. Rick has been cited as one of the “most influential people in project management” and “a thought-leader in agile project management”. In addition to Rick’s consulting work, he teaches IT project management and consulting courses at the college level.
